Our country’s mail system is veritably buckling at the seams right now. We are seeing delivery times as long as 20-25 days, and in some rare cases, even more. 😱 Even Amazon Prime is often running 5-10 days for delivery...and they’re Prime!
We apologize for the delays, and we promise that your packages are en route! We are a small team and are wholeheartedly committed to taking care of you and ensuring you get your Rasa.
WHAT’S ACTUALLY HAPPENING
To give you a little background, UPS normally sends 1.1 million packages through their system each week. Once increased online shopping behavior from COVID really started hitting in April, that jumped to 2.5 million pkgs almost overnight. Their current system capacity is 2.1 million.
It’s so bad that in many cases, they’re having drivers use their personal cars for deliveries.
The company is working to cram a 3 year growth plan into the next 3 months, as they expect this volume trend to continue.
They’re also taking an interesting move and not onboarding any new accounts for a period. Rasa made the switch to UPS in late June, in order to get more reliable shipping to our customers (ha, great timing). But amazingly, we were one of the last accounts to be approved before they closed to new accounts!
They are making this move to be able to focus on system upgrades and to not further add to the delays by introducing more mail to the already stressed system.
They have made a commitment to smaller companies like Rasa to cap high volume senders (ie The Gap, Macy’s, etc) in the month of August to allow for catch up & the system to have less traffic as they bring online more spaces and systems to manage these new dynamics.
We are optimistic the situation is going to start clearing up as we move along! 🤞

OH, AND RASA’S WAREHOUSE MOVE. NO BIG DEAL.
As if that wasn’t enough going on, we also have an urgent and unavoidable need to move into a new warehouse. Because of the logistics involved in this, we are shipping out on a slightly delayed schedule: our normal shipping time is within 1.5 business days, and now we’re 2-3 days delayed.
