A Love-Freakin'-Everybody Meditation

A Love-Freakin'-Everybody Meditation

Our founder, Lopa, created this meditation as a way to tap into the boundless power of love and compassion. Starting with someone you adore, this practice invites you to expand that love outward—to friends, strangers, and even those who challenge you. It’s a simple yet profound way to soften your heart, connect with others, and, as Lopa puts it, make the world a little less @$$holey.

This isn’t just about reading words; it’s about feeling them. With each step, you’ll cultivate courage and kindness, wishing happiness and freedom from suffering for everyone—even the tough ones. And for those who go the extra mile, there’s a little bonus (hint: free Rasa!). So, take a deep breath, dive in, and let’s spread some love.

Take a deep breath, close your eyes, & think about a person you love completely, someone who just lights up your heart when you think of them.

Bask in how much you love them. Let the joy and love you feel about who they are fill your heart and your whole body, like you’re glowing with love from the inside. Let it overflow beyond the confines of your body. Wish for this person to be deeply happy.

Now, take that very same feeling and extend it to other people in your life, wishing for their happiness and their freedom from suffering: your family, friends, neighbors, coworkers...

Take a few moments with each category of people.

Now, bring to mind people you pass on the street, in the store, people you’ve shared the road/bus/train/plane with. Do your best to extend that same love that you feel for Person #1, to these people you know nothing about. Wish for their happiness. Wish that they be free from suffering.

Now, for extra credit (I will be personally sending some free Rasa to the first 5 people who email hey@wearerasa.com before Sept 22nd, 2025, and tell me HOW you did it—and I’ll know if you’re faking it 😉):

Think about people who challenge you. People who cause YOU suffering in some way. Go gentle with yourself on this (or challenge yourself—whatever is truly right for you!). And, yep, you guessed it, we’re gonna do the same for them.

Remember, even intellectually, the adage: “Hurt people...hurt people.” Take a moment to feel that person’s suffering.

(I mean, really, how much do they need to be suffering to be such an @$$hole?)

Pretty much all of us are @$$holes when we are suffering (this is legit part of why I started Rasa, to help people be less stressed so they are less @$$holey).

If these people were truly, deeply happy and free from all types of suffering, wouldn't they very likely be kinder?

So with whatever loving kindness you can muster in your own heart, wish for their happiness. Wish them to be free from suffering and the causes of suffering.

Don't just read the words: do this. You can do this. And I believe the world needs, and is gonna keep needing, more of this kind of courage.
P.S. This was long—in the future, I could record these things for you. Let me know in the comments if that’s something you’d prefer!
